Big 3 ADV Itinerary

3. Big 3 ADV - 4 Days, 4 Nights, as much dirt as possible/very little pavement from Zion to Bryce Canyon and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Total Cost: $3400

Day 1 - Arrive at your leisure in time for an orientation and welcome dinner to begin at 4:30 local time.

Day 2 - Saddle time: 5 hours, Mileage 140

Meet for breakfast and planning at 7:00, geared up and warmed up by 8:15 and wheels rolling by 8:30. We start out for the Kolob Terrace Road and start gaining elevation as pass in and out of the west side of Zion National Park for some of the most stunning scenery of the day. We’ll pass through some old Aspen forests on our way to Cedar Breaks National Monument or we can skip the view and aim for more dirt heading to Hatch. Here we’ll finish the day on pavement the rest of the way into Bryce Canyon.

Day 3 - Saddle time: 5 hours, Mileage 105

After finishing our coffee at Bryce Point we’ll start our day of 95% gravel and hardpack. We’ll wind through Bryce Canyon, the backroads of the Dixie National Forest and a bit of the Bureau of Land Management before ending our day at the Big Springs Cabins or the Jacob Lake Inn.

Day 4- Saddle time: 5 hours, Mileage 120

We spend all day today on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or on the Kaibab National Forest. The vast majority of our day will be spent on dirt and depending on our progress we’ll see the Grand Canyon from 2 or 3 different viewpoints including Crazy Jug Point, The North Rim Visitor Center and possibly Cape Royal.

Day 5 -Saddle Time: 3.5 hours, Mileage 90

Our day starts out with a bit of pavement on our way to the last stretch of dirt on THIS adventure. We go through Kanab and then Zion National Park. Stopping often at the pullouts for pictures we’ll take our time. This is a great finish to a short adventure in a world famous area.
