Day 2- Saddle time: 4 hours. Mileage 170.

Meet for breakfast and planning at 7:00, geared up and warmed up by 8:15 and wheels rolling by 8:30. We head through Zion National Park stopping when possible at various overlooks for pictures or videos. After Zion we’ll visit Bryce Canyon. Though we’re not putting in lots of miles there are MANY things to see and much of this section has a lower speed limit due to the popularity of the National Park system. We’ll overnight in Escalante.

Day 3- Saddle time: 5 hours. Mileage 169.

Today we’ll head for Boulder and Capitol Reef with a few options of where we get our dirt fix. And then on to Green River and planning for Moab.

Day 4- Saddle time: 4 hours. Mileage 170.

The only interstate exposure on this trip starts our morning before travelling south to Arches National Park. Then we’ll head right over to Grand View Point in Canyonlands and take the Potash Road into Moab.

Day 5- Saddle Time: 2 hours. Mileage: 107

Today you get to choose your own ride for a long morning. The crew gets to explore the Moab area for most of today before the short 2 hour ride to Monticello. There are numerous easy, moderate and difficult trails and roads to choose from around Moab. If you don’t already have one picked out then consult YouTube but keep in mind you are on a larger bike. We still have the second half of the trip ahead of us.

Day 6- Saddle Time: 6 hours. Mileage: 138.

We head back north to ride past Newspaper Rock down the Beef Basin Road and then through the Valley of the Gods before arriving in Mexican Hat.

Day 7- Saddle Time: 5.5 hours. Mileage: 245.

We ride through Monument Valley first thing today and continue on to Jacob Lake. From there we wind through the Kaibab National Forest to the Big Springs Cabin Site.

Day 8- Saddle Time: 6 hours. Mileage: ~175

Our final day starts with dirt and gravel almost all the way to the North Rim Visitor Center of the Grand Canyon after stopping by Crazy Jug Point first. It’s the best part of wakin’ up. And finishing the trip back in Zion is about as good as it gets. After completing checkout we’ll have a final dinner together and part company . . . until next year.
